Web Programmer

Praxis Studios is seeking a web programmer whose responsibilities include building e-commerce applications, maintaining existing ASP or PHP code, optimizing SQL or MySQL database queries and developing custom web solutions. This position requires the ability to work with clients -- providing consultation, planning, and suggestions for effective solutions. Our ideal candidate possesses the ability to find creative solutions to problems that may present themselves in existing and/or pre-fab systems and be able to develop efficient code that maintains low server load times. Responsibilities may change over time based on the needs of the company and on the employee's skills and interests.

Requirements:

Praxis prefers the candidate to have (or be actively pursuing) an AA/AS in Computer Science or related technical field. We also prefer candidates who possess strong database architecture and implementation skills. Windows or Linux server experience is a plus along with good code writing style and commenting. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently are a necessity. We appreciate candidates who have the ability to recognize tasks that need to be completed and the willingness to take responsibility for them.
